SPROUT is operated by Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church, Chicago, Illinois, USA. SPROUT is a non-commercial, faith-based educational platform serving Sunday School students, instructors, parents, and administrators of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC).

4. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your SPROUT account
To display your lessons, grades, attendance, and progress
To allow instructors to manage their Sunday School class
To allow parents to monitor their linked child's progress
To send push notifications about announcements and lessons
To generate certificates of achievement
To allow administrators to manage churches within their diocese

5. How We Store Your Data

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore), a cloud database service operated by Google LLC. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS and encrypted at rest by Firebase.

Your data is stored on Google's servers in the United States. By using SPROUT you agree to this storage location.

6. Who Can See Your Data

7. Children's Privacy

SPROUT serves Sunday School students including children under 13. We take children's privacy very seriously.

Children's accounts are created by their parents or instructors
A child's data is only visible to their instructor and linked parent
We do not show advertising to any user, especially children
We do not collect more information from children than is necessary
Parents may request deletion of their child's account at any time by contacting us
Children cannot make in-app purchases — SPROUT has none

SPROUT complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable child privacy laws.

8. Data Retention

Your account data is retained while your account is active
Attendance and grade records are retained for the duration of your enrollment
If you request account deletion, your data is removed within 30 days
Anonymised statistical data may be retained for reporting purposes

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — request a copy of your personal data
Correct — update incorrect information through your profile
Delete — request deletion of your account and data
Withdraw consent — uninstall the app and request data deletion

10. Push Notifications

SPROUT sends push notifications for announcements, lesson updates, and attendance alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your Android device Settings → Apps → SPROUT → Notifications.

11. Camera and Storage Permissions

Camera / Gallery: Used only when you choose to upload a profile photo or scan a QR code for attendance. We do not access your camera or photos without your action.
Storage: Used only to save generated PDF certificates to your device when you request them.
